Ratcliffe (Character What)0001

Governor John Ratcliffe is one of the recurring minor villains in the Character What franchise. He is the main antagonist from Disney's 1995 animated film Pocahontas, and a arch-nemesis of both Pocahontas and John Smith.



Character What: The Adventures[]

In Pocahontas, Ratcliffe respire his role similar to the film, except with Shadow Aaron accompanying him in his plans to leads a crew of settlers on a ship to sails for North America on behalf of Virginia in search of gold and other riches, so he can keep all the material riches to himself, and had no intention to tell any of the crew for the real reason for going to Virginia and recites the "New World" speech as a ruse to hide his true motives. During a storm erupt, A captain named John Smith rescues a young settler named Thomas when he falls overboard, Smith introduce himself to Ratcliffe report about Thomas falling off the ship, which Ratcliffe sarcastically "praises" Smith for saving Thomas from drowning. After Ratcliffe and the crew arrives in Virginia, Shadow Aaron suddenly appears and offer Ratcliffe some assistant as long as Ratcliffe promises to help him in return, which he agree after Shadow Aaron warms him of the consequences should Ratcliffe decline his request. After Smith leaves to search for the Native Americans, Ratcliffe orders his men to dig everywhere for gold, but only found nothing but stones and dirt. When Ratcliffe spotted some native scouts, whom were sent by Chief Powhatan to learn more about the new arrivals, Ratcliffe assumes that it was a ambush, and ordered his men to arm themselves with guns. Ratcliffe shoot one of the warriors, causing the warriors to retreat and inform Powhattan how dangerous the men are. At the last few days, the men build a fortune to protect themselves from the Indians, but they hasn't found any trace of gold or riches. John Smith returns to Ratcliffe and the crew to explain that he befriended with the Native American princess named Pocahontas and learned from her that there was no gold in Virginia, and therefore no reason to fight. However, Ratcliffe stubbornly refuse to believes this, as thinks that the natives are hidden the gold for themselves, declaring that the Powhatans must be eliminated. Later, Smith leaves to warm Pocahontas, Ratcliffe sees him running off and sends Thomas to follow him.

Character What: Villains Revenge[]

In Shadow Aaron's Rate, Ratcliffe joins forces with Shadow Aaron and some other villains to track down and capture Twilight Sparkle, but they couldn't find her anywhere in Ponyville.
